By July 20, 2018

Lindsey McIver, from Colorado, America is warning others of the potential hazards of front-loading washing machines after her terrifying ordeal of finding her 3-year-old daughter Kloe,  locked inside with the machine running.

Lindsey and her husband Alan was woken up by their 4 year old son in hysterics after realised something was wrong they found their 3 year old dagihter Kloe locked inside the front loaded washing machine.

Kloe, had climbed inside the washing machine and was locked inside the airtight washing machine. It was tumbling and filling up with water. Kloe was screaming but she couldnt be hearsd.

Lindsey husbands Alan, tried pulled the door open but it was locked and it coudn't get open. They qucikly managed to stop the cycle and get Kloe out.

Kloe was unharmed, except for a few small bumps and bruises.

Both Lindsey and Alan had warned their children not to touch the washing machine however the children still managed to figure out to start the machine.

Lindsey and Alan share this story to warn others of the potential dangers of front loaders and to make use of the child safety features.

Unfortunately, front-loading machines have posed a serious hazard before. In 2009, a 4-year-old girl in Southern California died after she climbed inside a washer and her toddler brother hit the start button, AP reports. Small children aren't the only family members you need to worry about.

"Pets like to go in there, too," adds Carolyn Forte, Director of the Good Housekeeping Institute Home Appliances & Cleaning Products Lab.

Kids should never be in laundry rooms unsupervised, and parents should take advantage of the child lock setting. "It's designed to disable the controls so the machine can’t be started and some even lock the door," she explains.
