Celebrate Crazy Hair Day 7 August

By August 14, 2020

Crazy Hair Day, held on the 7 August, is an annual fundraising event held across Australia. Encourage children to wear their craziest hair and raise awareness and money for cystic fibrosis.

Cystic fibrosis is a genetically inherited condition that causes mucus in the body to be thick and sticky. The mucus mainly causes issues in the lungs and the pancreas (in the digestive system).

How To Get Involved:

  • Encourage children and educators to wear a crazy hairstyle and donate a gold coin to go towards this fundraiser.
  • Teach children about cystic fibrosis.
  • Discuss germs, where they come from, how to minimise them.
  • Reinforce proper hand washing techniques with the children, when to wash hands with etc.

The money raised by participating in fundraising activities for CF goes towards providing services to people living with CF within your state. Each CF state organisation provides a variety of support services which may include counselling, respite and financial support.
