It is a great way to inspire children to learn about the local environment while playing an active role in their community.
Ways to get involved:
- Plant a garden (either indoors or out). If you already have a garden plant some new flowers etc.
- Start growing edible seedlings for children to take home or to make foods with at the service.
- Create a nature collage using fallen leaves, twigs, etc.
- Use leaves to create leaf prints with paint.
- Go on a nature scavenger hunt.
- Have children wear the colour green or a green colour item.
- Nature sensory bag - fill a sandwich bag with clear hair gel and found flowers to create a sensory bag/suncatcher.
- Nature stampers - collect gum nuts, twigs, leaves etc. for children to press these into playdough.
- Create a terrarium from a plastic bottle or a mini garden.
