Free Support For Childcare Centres Rated Working Towards NQS ACECQA

Eligible services in NSW rated Working Towards the National Quality Standard (NQS) are being given an opportunity to participate in a Quality Support Program.

The goal of the program is to improve on quality practice, and that over time, services will improve their overall quality rating against the NQS.

The free program will run for approximately 18 weeks and is being offered by the NSW Department of Education, in partnership with the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).

The ACECQA Quality Support Program team will spend time with your service to understand your goals, what makes your service unique and the areas your team has identified as priorities for improvement.

The program will include a number of resources to support quality improvement such as:

  • Face-to-face visits
  • Online training modules
  • Workshops
  • Online follow-ups
  • Telephone support

The program is available to services including long day care, family daycare, preschool, and out of school hours care (OSHC) services that meet the following criteria:

  • Have received a quality assessment and rating resulting in an overall rating of Working Towards NQS.
  • Are currently rated Working Towards NQS on the basis of not meeting six or more elements of the NQS.
  • For OSHC vacation care-only services, the program conveners will work with service providers to design support that fits their unique operating arrangements.

Services can register their interest now to participate in the program in 2020.

Places are limited, so even if you are unsure about the program or whether the timing meets your needs, we encourage you to register so we can ensure your service is contacted when the next round of the program is on offer.
