Educator Minimum Award Wage To Increase By 3% On 01 July 2019

By May 30, 2019

The Fair Work Commission has announced a 3% increase to award wages and the national minimum wage. The increase takes effect from the first full pay period that starts on or after 1 July 2019.

The change only applies to employees that get their pay rates from the national minimum wage, a modern award or in some cases a registered agreement.

This means for Educators and ECT's receiving the minimum wage set out in the Children's Services Award 2010, or the Educational Services Teachers Award 2010 the 3% increase will apply.

For Educators receiving above award wages, which means you are paid higher than the minimum award rate set out in either the Children's Services Award 2010 or Educational Services Teachers Award 2010, then you will NOT be receiving this increase.

Note: The wage tables in the following articles, from Aussie Childcare Network, Childcare Wages In Australia and Early Childhood Teachers (ECT) Award Wages will be updated with the new 3% increase once it becomes available in each Award from the Fair Work Commission.

Until then, please check the above wage tables to confirm if you are eligible for the 3% increase.

We will let you know once the new rates have come into effect.
