Revised Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines For 2019

By March 20, 2019

The Queensland Kindgerten Learning Guidelines (QKLG) has been revised for implementation in 2019. Kindergarten teachers in approved and funded services will now implement the updated QKLG.

The QKLG provides advice for planning, interacting with children, monitoring and assessing, and sharing information in kindergarten contexts. It describes a set of five learning and development areas that align with the five broad learning outcomes identified in the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

The QKLG are based on the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF) and embrace the inclusive vision that “all children experience learning that is engaging and builds success for life”. For a list of QKLG (2019) that can be used as a reference guide, please read the following:

Intentional Teaching examples are provided for each key focus and significant aspect of learning. When educators explicitly teach knowledge and skills to individuals or small groups that support the children learning it is intentional teaching.
