There has been a product safety recall from Product Safety Australia for the following infant, baby and child items: Target Australia Pty Ltd — Baby/Toddler Fleece Letterman Jacket, HB Commerce Pty Ltd — 2-in-1 Baby Stroller / Pram Aluminium Red and Black, Nuby Australia — Nuby Silicone Ortho Pacifier 2 Pack 0-12m, Farallon Brands — Peanut Shell Infant Sleep Bags. 

1) Target Australia Pty Ltd — Baby/Toddler Fleece Letterman Jacket

Description:

Baby/Toddler Fleece Letterman Jacket, 

  • 0-3months keycode 61808676
  • 3-6 months keycode 61808683
  • 6-12 months keycode 61808690
  • 12-18 months keycode 61808706
  • 18-24 months keycode 61808713

Defect:

The press-studs may detach from the garment.

Hazard:

If press-studs detach, they may pose a choking/ingestion hazard for young children.

What to do:

Consumers should stop using the garment and return it to a Target or Target Country store for a full refund.


2) HB Commerce Pty Ltd — 2-in-1 Baby Stroller / Pram Aluminium Red and Black

Description:

  • 2-in-1 baby stroller and a pram in one with an aluminium frame.
  • Aluminium red and black
  • Stroller has a reversible seat and can be transformed into a pram and has a folding canopy. Suitable for children up to 15 kg.

Defect:

  • The stroller does not comply with the mandatory standard 'Competition and Consumer Act 2010 - Consumer Protection Notice No. 8 of 2007 - Consumer Product Safety Standard for Prams and Strollers'.
  • The stroller does not have red parking brake actuator and the safety warnings on the harness are not the correct size.

Hazard:

If the product does not have the required safety features the product may not be used correctly, posing a risk of injury to the child.

What to do:

Consumers will be contacted by HB Commerce to arrange for a Red Brake Actuator Cover and a manual to inform them how to install the cover, to be sent to them when the part is available. The Red Brake Actuator Cover should be installed over the Black Brake Actuator.

3) Nuby Australia — Nuby Silicone Ortho Pacifier 2 Pack 0-12m

Description:

  • Silicone Pacifier
  • Age graded from 0 to 12 months old
  • 7015894

Defect:

  • The pacifier does not comply with the Australian mandatory standard 'Consumer Goods (Babies Dummies and Dummy Chains) Safety Standard 2017'.
  • The shield dimensions do not meet the specifications of the standard.

Hazard:

May present a choking or suffocation hazard to infants and young children. In the event that a child takes the whole pacifier into their mouth, the product may become lodged at the back of the throat and restrict air supply.

What to do:

Consumers should immediately stop using the pacifier and contact Nuby Australia to receive a replacement item.

Defect:

  • The product does not comply with the fire hazard labelling requirements of the mandatory standard 'Consumer Goods (Children's Nightwear and Limited Daywear and Paper Patterns for Children's Nightwear) Safety Standard 2017'.
  • Some of the infant sleep bags are missing the required fire hazard label.

Hazard:

Parents and carers may not be aware of the fire hazard and as a result, infants may be at risk of burn injury.

What to do:

Affected consumers will be sent a copy of the recall notice and should immediately cease using the product and return the product to Oz Sale for a full refund.

If you have any of these items please remove them from your child's area and return them, as they have defects and may cause harm to your child.

On, 8 December 2017, an incident took place at Brunswick Head OOSH, where a 6-year-old child left the service through an unfenced area of the school.
